Paints Strippers using Methylene Chloride are currently being removed from the shelves in most major retailers. Amazon also announced recently that it is removing all Paint Strippers that use Methylene Chloride from their product offerings.
1,3 Dioxolane is an excellent replacement for Methylene Chloride in many applications, including Paint Strippers. It has a very high Kauri-Butanol value (200), low surface tension, and is fully miscible in water. Dioxolane can be used in most general cleaner formulations, graffiti removers, electrical contact cleaners, glue/gasket removers, windshield cleaners, brake cleaners, etc.
All these products are TSCA approved and are NOT listed on the California Prop 65 list.
At Holland, we have been working with Dioxolane (and many other members of the Acetal family) for over 20 years. Please call us to discuss your needs as you formulate through these changes.
